This explains what we collect when you use pittsburghfloat.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Plain language, no filler.

Who we are

Pittsburgh Float Spa, 5850 Ellsworth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Reach us at luke@pittsburghfloat.com or 412.337.9882. We are the party responsible for the information described here.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Private event enquiries. Name, email, phone, event type, group size, preferred date and anything you write in the notes field.
• Bookings and purchases. Handled by Acuity Scheduling, not by us. Your name, contact details and payment information go to Acuity and their payment processor. We can see your booking; we never see your full card number.
• Waivers and intake forms. Completed before your first session. These may include health information you choose to share so we can keep you safe.
• Messages. Anything you send by email, phone or text.

Information collected automatically

• Pages viewed, how long you stayed, which sections you opened
• Approximate location, from your IP address at city level
• Device, browser and screen size
• How you arrived — a search, an ad, a social post or a direct visit

None of this is collected until you accept cookies. Decline and analytics stays off.

Health information

We are a wellness business, not a healthcare provider, so we are not a HIPAA covered entity. That said, we treat anything you tell us about your health with the same care we would want.

• Health details from waivers and intake forms are used only to keep your session safe
• They are never used for advertising, never uploaded to ad platforms, and never sold
• They are not shared outside the business except where the law requires it

Cookies and tracking

The banner on your first visit is real. Nothing loads until you choose.

• Necessary. Remembering your cookie choice and whether you have seen the intro offer. Always on; no personal data.
• Analytics. Google Analytics 4, to see which pages people read and where visitors come from. Only after you accept.
• Advertising. Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) may set cookies so we can measure whether an ad led to a booking, and show ads to people who visited but did not book. Only after you accept.

You can change your mind by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We do use service providers, and they receive only what they need:

• Acuity Scheduling (Squarespace) — bookings, memberships, payments
• Google — Analytics, Ads and Maps
• Meta — advertising measurement, if you accepted advertising cookies
• Our form and messaging provider — delivering event enquiries and follow-up messages

Under some state privacy laws, using advertising cookies counts as "sharing" or "selling" even when no money changes hands. Declining cookies opts you out.

How long we keep it

• Event enquiries: two years, unless you ask sooner
• Booking and purchase records: as long as tax and accounting rules require
• Waivers: while you remain a client and for a reasonable period after
• Analytics: Google's standard retention, currently fourteen months

Your choices

Email luke@pittsburghfloat.com and we will action any of the following:

• Ask what we hold about you
• Correct anything wrong
• Have it deleted, where we are not required to keep it
• Opt out of marketing email or text at any time; every message includes a way out
• Opt out of advertising cookies, by declining the banner

We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Guests under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign for them.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection and payments are handled entirely by our booking provider. No system is perfect, but we do not store card numbers ourselves.

Changes

If this changes materially we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
